“Point of Stillness” is an exceptional work distinguished by its reduction to black and white, its large-scale pictorial elements, and the small neon-yellow square. The viewer’s eye moves back and forth between the diffusely composed areas and the small, sharply defined and three-dimensionally rendered square, shifting between the level of shadow and the foreground. Despite—or precisely because of—its minimalist and reduced execution, “Point of Stillness” is a highly compelling work.
